In the Trenches
For today's look, I'll be talking about the jacket that's versatile for any kind of weather and stylish for any occasion - the trench coat. Not only is it a great layering piece, but the structure of the coat can take an outfit to the next level. At first, I thought I would look like a detective with the iconic tan, buttoned trench coat, but it all depends on how you style it. I've been seeing trench coats a lot lately and I'm here to give you all some inspiration! The weather here in NorCal has been windy and rainy on some days and sunny, yet cool on other days, so this coat is the perfect transitional piece. You can wear trench coats so many different ways. For instance, you can wear it fastened around the waist, off the shoulders, drape it over your shoulders, or unbuttoned like how I did.
I've partnered with KOODING to showcase this beautiful "Long D Belt Trench Coat". First off, finding the perfect trench coat for your body and height is key. Go for one that suits your personality and style the best. Choosing a color may be difficult, but I say stick to the colors that you know you'll get the most wear out of such as the colors beige, black, navy, or burgundy. On KOODING's website, there is a black color available, but I decided to go for this beige color because I tend to gravitate towards black, so I wanted to branch out. This beige colored trench will be a great piece to throw on during Spring. I love that it's lightweight and it's long silhouette is suitable for me. And if anyone is wondering, I am 5'6!
I stuck with a classic outfit to pair with the trench coat. You can't go wrong with a sweater, denim jeans, and boots. It's the perfect everyday look. Nothing too fancy. The white turtleneck sweater is from Forever 21, the denim jeans were thrifted and I cut and frayed the hems myself, and the black boots are from Public Desire.
How will you style the trench coat? Casual? Chic? Sporty?
