Ruby Red

Hello, I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Finally, the sun came out to play! We're slowly transitioning from Winter to Spring. Anyone else excited for warm weather?! Don't get me wrong, I love the layering and keeping warm with a hot cup of coffee/tea, but your girl needs some Vitamin D in her life. Bye to heavy coats and hello to light trenches!

As I was looking through magazines and scrolling on Instagram, I've noticed this pop of color everywhere - RED! Side note: If you're ever looking for fashion inspo, I highly recommend magazines and social media sites like Instagram. I do have those times where I'm feeling "eh" about what to wear, so it's refreshing seeing other people's outfits. So, I know I have talked about the color red in my previous post, but I want to mention this color again because it's still going strong. Red is powerful. Red is bold. Red is fierce. Colors in general are in the spotlight, so it's our time to shine in it! I know colors can be daunting, but if you're wanting to freshen up your wardrobe, start with some color with your accessories and work from there. Like Marc Jacobs said, "Color is the finishing touch to everything".

In today's look, I wanted the accessories to make the statement. I suppose this outfit is not an everyday look, but I mean, it can be. One thing I know for sure is that it's comfortable and chic. Aside from the usual cardigan or trusty hoodie, I went with a light trench to dress it up. I wanted the color red to pop, so I styled my red booties in this neutral ensemble. This look is perfect for a date night or grabbing brunch with some friends. Aside from the banging boots, I love the extreme fray details on the hem of jeans. It flows nicely as you walk and it's different from your regular skinny jeans.

Onto where the pieces are from, the beret is from Jenn Im's line, Eggie.us. This beret was exclusively for the first 100 people who ordered from her brand when she first launched Eggie. I was lucky enough to hit that "confirm order" button and scored one! I received the black trench coat from Tobi.com a few years ago, so unfortunately, it's not available, but I've found similar ones here and here. As for the white turtleneck, it's from Forever21.com. The fray hem mom jeans are from PrettyLittleThing.com, but it's sold out. I did find similar ones here and for my petite girls, here. The silver and black belt was thrifted and then last, but certainly not least, the red sock booties are from Missguidedus.com. These are sold out as well, but have no fear, I found similar ones here, here, and here.

What color(s) are you going to rock this upcoming season?
