Animal Style
Anyone else pictured animal style fries from In-N-Out when you read the title of this blog post? Now I'm craving some. Anyway, Winter is in full swing in Northern CA. It doesn't snow and it doesn't reach the negatives, but nonetheless, it's impossible to leave the house without some kind of outerwear. Personally, I favor Fall/Winter over Spring/Summer. I love how there's a variety of ways to style different pieces, being able to layer, and drink some hot chocolate/hot tea/coffee to keep warm. Plus, holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are around the colder months, which makes the year so much more memorable.
For today's look, I decided to switch it up from my usual street style and try something new and different. I centered this look around the faux fur leopard coat. When I spotted it online, I knew I had to have it in my closet. I don't usually favor prints, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and see how I can style this piece. I've been seeing animal print everywhere from coats, sweaters, tops, and even shoes. It's timeless and surprisingly versatile. You don't have to be a fashion editor, blogger or even famous to wear one. If you see a piece you like, buy it and wear it with confidence!
Another popular trend I've seeing on social media are berets. It's the ultimate accessory to complement any Winter outfit. Sure it may give off those military, hipster, French girl vibes, but it's a look that will surely turn heads. Pulling off a beret is not as tough as it seems. There are several ways to position this accessory on your head - to the left, to the right, pull back or even pull forward. There are different types and textures of berets as well, so if you don't find the right beret, no worries! Berets are the "it" hats like how bucket hats and dad hats were trendy at one time.
Now let's get to the outfit details. Believe it or not, this outfit was quite affordable. The red beret and white turtleneck are from Forever 21, the black distressed denim jeans and faux fur leopard coat are from Charlotte Russe, and last, but not least, the taupe booties are from Just Fab. In fact, in today's post, I've partnered with Just Fab to bring you the best time of the year - boot season! Just Fab is the one stop shop to find the latest trends. They offer a variety of shoes, apparel, and handbags along with fashion tips and inspirational looks, which are always helpful in my book. These trendy boots were made for walking. The block heel and the circular back zip closure adds a nice statement. I chose the color taupe because your girl has a lot of black boots already and it's the perfect brown colored booties to elevate any look! These pair of booties also come in grey, black, and picante.
What are your favorite outerwear pieces for the Winter season?
I'm obsssed with your style I can't wait to watch you grow more and prosper in 2018 ❤️
