So Long Eggie (Baby)

First off, congratulations to Jenn Im for launching her very own clothing line! I'm not one to fangirl, but she's hands down one of my favorites. She is one of many who encouraged me to do what I love. I had the chance to meet her twice in Davis and every time we met, she welcomed with a huge smile and hug. Not only do I love her style, but how she stays true to herself. It's remarkable seeing her growth. She has taught me to wear what makes me happy. I've been admiring her for quite some time, so of course I had to support her and her clothing line - Eggie.

A couple years ago, I was going through an extremely difficult time in my life and through her videos, she has helped me want to pursue what I actually want to do. Her videos were my little escape. It's so cool knowing she went to a college I'm familiar of. It's only about 30-40 minutes away from my hometown. I love my hometown, but I have to admit, I've realized that the fashion scene isn't as recognized here. If I wear something that's not so basic, people would ask me why I'm so dressed up for or I didn't have to dress this way because it isn't fancy or they'll look at me weird and even laugh, but I didn't take their opinions to heart (for the most part). I love that Jenn Im and I have that same mindset and I admire her so much for that. Like I always say, it's okay to step out and wear whatever makes you feel confident. Jenn Im inspires me to do so much more and explore what the world has to offer! And that's what I'm going to do.

Before I get into how I styled one of her pieces, I wanted to tell you a funny story. When she announced that her Fall collection was going to be live at this certain day and time, I was so excited and set my alarm for it. The night of, I randomly woke up around 5AM and for some reason, I couldn't go back to sleep. So, I decided to check my phone (good thing I did!). Fortunately, I woke up just in time for her launch. Little ol' me, I've realized I set the wrong time. Anyway, I looked through her collection and wanted e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, but I had to finalize it down to two pieces. I chose these specific pieces because not only would I get a lot of wear from it, but it's versatile pieces that I can incorporate when I'm at school, at the coffee shop or even at the bar/club. The first piece I chose was this Oversize Eggie L/S

This unisex white long sleeve tee caught my eye because of it's exaggerated sleeves. Though it looks impractical, it's all for style really. I could pull up the sleeves to my wrist if I needed to. It also comes in orange, but be me wanting to be basic, I went for white, so I could easily pair it with other items. I love a good graphic top, so this spoke to me. The "Eggie" artwork on the side of the sleeves is a statement of its own and I love it! I've been supporting Jenn for years now, so wearing her the pieces she created makes me so incredibly proud. I love the look of asymmetrical pieces. It's adds a quirky touch to any outfit.

I had to buckle up this for look. I love the oversize fit, but I decided to add a black double grommet silver belt to fit my silhouette. Then I threw on my nude sock booties from Zooshoo to reach new heights. Pairing it with some OTK boots or even sneakers would have been great too! If the weather was chillier, I would have wore some trousers and chucked on a leather jacket or a denim jacket. There's so many ways to style this effortless piece. It's all about your preference.

I chose a size Small and I am 5'6. It fits just right. The quality of this piece is certainly there too. Might I add the packaging was cutest! It was neatly packaged with individual bags for each item and a sweet card, which I appreciate.

Before I sign out, I just wanted to congratulate Jenn Im once again and wish her the best! Keep doin' your thing girl!

Stay tuned for the next look featuring Eggie.
