That's A Wrap

It's no surprise that accessories add that extra oomph to an outfit. Unfortunately for me, I've never been the type to accessorize (trying to change that in 2017). I feel like I'm a broken record right now, but I believed accessories weren't necessary. Little did I know, it does in fact, change your perspective when choosing what pieces to put together. It can elevate any outfit - from day to night, from casual to chic or from boring to lively. From jewelry to hats to belts to pins to even socks, these little details make a huge statement. It makes each outfit look unique and stand out from others.

In today's look, I've decided to style my outfit around these particular accessorizes. Instead of picking my top and bottoms first, I chose the accessorizes. I wanted to challenge myself and see what kind of look I could come up with. Since it's chilly here in Northern CA, I centered my outfit around cozy and comfy.

As you may realize, my style fluctuates. One day, I love wearing all black and sneakers, other times, I like wearing a sweater and booties. It honestly depends on my mood. I'm surprised I didn't wear any black in this look. I wanted to stray away from wearing any type of black, since I typically go for it.

I'm all for universal casual outfits. I could go shopping, ice skating, run errands, or go out to eat wearing this outfit. I am living for this blanket scarf from Charlotte Russe. Scarves are an essential when it comes to cold weather. Who doesn't love being bundled up? It's layering season! There's so many types of scarves to choose from such as knit scarves, circle scarves, blanket scarves, etc. Not only that, but I love how you can wrap blanket scarves differently. I decided to just wrap it all around my neck for extra comfort and I bury my face in it as I walk.

As for my outfit details, I snagged the taupe turtle sweater from Charlotte Russe on sale in an XL. My army green skinny jeans are from H&M that I bought last year. I am loving the details on the thighs. It gives it character with a little edge. Then for my taupe booties, which most of you have seen from my past posts, I got them from Charlotte Russe. I almost forgot to mention, the dainty rings are also from Charlotte Russe. Make sure you know your ring size so it doesn't slip out as you're going about your day. I had an incident a couple years ago where I bought whatever rings that looked cute and not knowing there were different sizes, I got the wrong one. They were slipping and sliding around my fingers and it was a hassle having to adjust them. Just a quick tip! In any case, this is not sponsored by Charlotte Russe by any means. They just have amazing sales that I can't pass up! You're welcome to switch out any piece or layer more pieces with it. It's all up to you! Have a great day/night!
