New Year, Better Me
As the year is coming to an end, I can't help, but think about how much has changed. A lot can happen in a span of 365 days. I just have to keep in mind, "Not everyone you lose, is a loss." There were many great times and many sad ones. This year, I turned 21. This year, I traveled and went on a plane for the first time. This year, I attended my first blogger event. This year, I actually won giveaways. This year, I became a Charlotte Russe It Girl. This year, I acquired a fashion internship. This year, I discovered my career.
I decided to title this post "New Year, Better Me" because I will try my best to be a better daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend, employee, and student. I want to work on myself - mentally, emotionally, and physically. A couple years ago, I was in a very, very dark place in my life and I'm so happy to say I'm no longer feeling resentment or ashamed over it. There's the saying, "new year, new me", but let's be honest, no one can transform into a changed person just because it's a new year. There has to be obedience, ambition, and determination. We all set resolutions in the beginning of the year, but do we act on it and accomplish them? Change isn't immediate. It takes time, but all in all, it's easier said than done whether you want to get fit, start a brand, conquering a fear, or learning something new! 2017, it's time to start. Better late than never!
Aside from setting goals for this upcoming year, why not celebrate the new year serving looks? This particular one is for those out there who aren't in favor of glamorous, ultra glittery attire. New Year's screams sparkles and shiny looks and though it's eye-catching, there's other styles if you want to look daring and different from everyone else.
In my everyday life, especially those who know me in real life, know that I wear comfy and casual clothes all the time. If there's an occasion or event, of course I'm going to do a full face and wear "out of the ordinary" looks. I'm trying to get in touch with my girly side, but your girl is in a committed relationship with sneakers, denim, and over-sized pieces. This look says "Let's celebrate the New Years" and "Don't kill my vibe" all in one. An all black outfit is bold, but it's eye-catching and makes you look slim.
The shimmery plunging v-neck bodysuit and high rise liquid leggings are both from Charlotte Russe. For my heels, I went with lace up heels from Forever 21. Not only to elevate the look, but also for comfort, since it's a chunky heel. I don't see these particular ones online right now, since I bought them a couple years ago, but you can find similar ones on other websites such as Gojane.com or Wetseal.com.
There is going to be one more New Year's look that I've put together for those who do want to get in touch with their classy, chic side, so look out for that.
Until then, I hope you all have a great day/night! Cheers to a new year!
