Thrifty Finds

What is thrifting? It's visiting thrift shop(s) or "second-hand" shops that feature all sorts of clothes, shoes, and bags and antiques, etc. Things and clothes are placed accordingly (or not) and are there for you to explore some of it or all of it if you'd like. It may not be every one's cup of tea because you really have to have patience and a keen eye; searching through racks or piles of clothes, which may get a little messy. All in all, it is a fun experience, since it's not your average shopping like the mall or department stores. So I encourage you guys to be open and bring your friends along and go on a thrifting hunt!

Now for my thrifty finds, my sister and I headed to the Superstore Goodwill, which is a much bigger place than your average one. We spent about a good hour or two searching through the racks full of clothes, going up and down every aisle twice just to make sure we searched through everything. When we first arrived, it was crowded at first, which made it difficult for us to get through the aisles and get a shopping cart, but died down when we started to try on all our clothes. At first I had almost 10 pairs of jeans only to find out it fit awkwardly, didn't fit at all, too short, not high-waisted as I hoped, so ultimately I came out with NO jeans. I found the perfect pair of A&F jeans, which were only $7.99, but found out the zipper broke, so good thing I tried those on before buying! (TIP: Make sure you examine closely on what you're wanting to buy! There could be rips, holes, stains, broken zippers, etc.)

All and all, I think my sister and I came out with great items! I found a cute light blue button up, dark blue cardigan, grey knitted tank top, black and white striped top and my favorite purchase - light denim motor jacket from Lauren Conrad's collection! All of this was only $25.45! (I donated the $0.05 cents to an organization that Goodwill associates themselves with.) What's great about thrifting is each piece of unique and it's like you struck a pot of gold in the end. There are some thrifting experiences where luck wasn't on my side, so I came out with nothing, but not this time! Can't wait to style these pieces!
